daivi / adaiva -varnasrama:
-Prabhupada's instructions
1. Chant and be happy.
2. 4 regs
-emphasis on asrama
-regardless of asrama, always hear and chant about Krsna
-Lord Caitanya is niskincina, and rejected only adaiva varna-asrama. We are not niskincina. -Prabhupada recommended daiva varnasrama's implementation.
catur varnam maya srstam....
adaiva / daiva:
-adaiva refers to Smarta varnasrama based on birth, not guna (qualities) and karma (activities).
daiva varnasrama is essential...it is designed and recommended by Krsna Himself in B.G.
-therefore, Lord Caitanya was rejecting adaiva not daiva.
- even Mahaprabhu was strictly observing the rules and regulations of the sannyas asrama.
-what is the duty of one vaisnava to another vaisnava?
-they are like brothers who do not quarrel, and have a loving acceptance of one another.
-Lord Caitanya is speaking with Ramananda Raya.
- sarva dharmam parityajya....
-sajya / sadhana
-saranagati , though does not constitue bhakti, is required for entrance into bhakti yoga.
-surrender is simply the inclination or turning our attention towards Krsna.
Therefore the phrase "performing devotional service favourably".
-why did Mahaprabhu reject saranagati ?
-Mahaprabhu was focused on the supreme goal not the means or process to attain it.
