"he is a 'some' sort of rishi or something, he does what ever he likes" something to that effect? I have seen it on sanga space somewhere.

The only spice is little salt. Other than that we are using cummin seed & dry red chilly in the begining. My mother-in-law did not use anything else. I will be happy to serve you well next time as last time i was unable to do much in kitchen.

I am fine and pray the same at your end. Sending you the recipie of mango chutney. You can modify the same as per your preference. First, take a unripe mango, peel it, then cut it into small pieces(approx. 1/2 cm cube). Take a pan put 1 tbsp oil. When oil is hot put mustad seed or cummin seed and 2 dry red chillies. After few seconds put the pieces of mango in it . Saute it and after one min. put sugar and water(put water and sugar according to the consistency of chutney you want). Maybe 1/2 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Put a lid on the pan and and leave it on low flame for few min(15-20 min.). When the mango cubes are soft then mash them a little with a spoon. It's ready now. Dry red chillies are important for flavour. Happy cooking.
