I was able to extend my BC stay for Lord Krishna's birthday and see the deities as lovely as ever! I was not quite sure about the "band"style kirtan that took place up to viewing the deities at midnight, but the gurukulies saved the day by taking over afterwards with a traditional kirtan mood - chanting and dancing with call and response, Srila Prabhupad-style!
