MMO based on Virgin Ramayan Comic

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), a global leader in the online gaming industry, has joined hands
with Virgin Comics, the brainchild of Sir Richard Branson and Deepak Chopra, to offer the India-based Ramayan 3392 A.D. comic book as an MMO PC game.

The exclusive, multi-year, worldwide license agreement between Virgin Comics and Sony Online Entertainment was first announced by John Smedley, President of SOE and Sharad Devarajan, Co-founder and CEO, Virgin Comics.

Under this agreement, SOE will develop and publish an MMO based on the Ramayan story which consists of mythological lore.

Deepak Chopra, an Indian medical doctor and more noteably known for his spirtuality books said, “Ramayan has inspired the lives of millions of people through the ages. The re-imagining of this great ancient epic through the creativity of a game platform re-affirms the fact that Ramayan is one of the greatest stories ever told.”

“The fact that the same creative team of young Indians that created the story will be involved in working with SOE’s game development team, is a testament to the innovative and mythic minds of these gifted Indian creators who will take a new generation to new frontiers across the seas of consciousness into new realms of mystery, magic, adventure, and transformation,” Deepak Chopra added.

Virgin Comics will serve as the creative consultant on the project and SOE’s game development team will be headed by Suresh Seetharaman, who also oversaw the development of the comic. Acclaimed film maker Shekhar Kapur who is also a co-founder of Virgin Comics will also be involved in this Ramayan MMO project.

Virgin Comics’ Ramayan 3392 A.D. was initially released as a comic in late 2006.

No way thats real girl talking, imagine your Rama, and you have to fight against Ravana yes maybe your die but you can try again. You can play as God. For people who don't know i think they get some Low Sukrti but still thats how to reach masive of yougsters. Same go to hollywood try to give a movie script to one of the famous directors they can make hell of a movie nowadays. Soon ya will see Ramayan will be filmed again. The technic what they used for Beowulf thats really slick. And the game like Assasins creed that as Rama lila wow hold me tight because that game will rock. Come on Girls Think BIG think positive

maybe ram cant die.. maybe he just messes up and has to go back and try again. ...and maybe you cant even be Ram... maybeyou are like a monkey or something... somehow i dont think so though, haha

this might be a little weird, as in video games when you're playing you consider yourself sort of the character, and also, that you die a lot.. wouldn't it be weird to have 'Ram' die, and then you say, "crap I just lost another life!"
