Its Time to Boil the Milk!

I remember in 1972 or 1973 Srila Prabhupada told us, "Now we have enough centers and devotees and its time to 'boil the milk'. As milk is boiled down it gets thicker and sweeter. In the same way, Srila Prabhupada let us know that we needed to concentrate on our spiritual lives; become more serious about the angas of bhakti. Since that time I entered married life, had 4 children and 34 years later, for me ...its time to boil the milk. My diksha-guru, Srila Prabhupada laid the foundation of Krishna Consciousness. He gave everything. My siksha-guru, Srila Gurudeva clarified everything for me and revealed the glories of my Srila Prabhupada. We are all indeed fortunate to be under such able guidance, causelessly merciful shelter. We are the most fortunate souls in this world- without a doubt. So now at this stage of my life its time to drink in Gurudeva's Harikatha and act upon it. Its time to take harinam seriously, trying my level-best to avoid the 10 nama-aparadhas. Never before in my life has the importance of Sri Guru been so prominently revealed. While chanting Harinam let me realize the mala is like the umbilical cord through wihich Gurudeva nourishes me and removes my anarthas. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare! Jaya Gurudeva! Jaya Prabhupada! No time to waste....its time to boil the milk......

Alas! Its 2009 and still I haven't put the milk in the fire for boiling..... Here's the problem stated by Sri Sanat Kumar in his siksha to Maharaja Prithu (paraphrazing...) "There is no greater impediment to one's spiritual progress than thinking other things are more important than Bhakti."
