One should be disciplined by the Guru

"One Should de disciplined by the guru. "unless I am being
disciplined by guru I will act whimsically. Pride will develop in me.
That means a demoniac attitude will be there. I will become a demon
instead of a devotee, a vaisnava." So, this discipline is
eternal. "My guru is inflicting discipline on me eternally, and I am
eternally his disciple."

"In the age of Kali, Krsna appears with a golden complexion (akrsna). He is constantly singing the two syllables kr and sna, and He is accompanied by His associates, servitors, weapons (harinama) and confidential companions. Intelligent people worship Him by performing sankirtana-yajna". (SB 11.5.32)

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (who is non different from Lord Krishna) descended from Goloka Vrindavana to this material world. His appearance day, known as Gaura-purnima, is extremely special, because everybody was chanting holly names while taking bath in the Ganges River.savra sada guna purnyam tam vande phalgun punnimam, yasyam sri krishanachaitanya abatirnaha krishana namavi C.C ADI LILA13 TH CH SHLOKE NO 19 falguni purninama sandhaya prabhur janmadoya, sai kale daiva yoge chandra grahan haya. hari hari bale loke harasitya haniya, janmiliya chaitanya prabhu name janmayia...........hari name loyala prabhu nana chalein at the time of luner epiclipes or sun epliclipes indian pepole chant holi names. In the same way .our beloved guru dev was boran in the mane sankirtane IN THE MONTH OF MAGHA MASA This date is also known as Mauni Amavasya. that day all indian people chant holi names and take bith in the holli rivres. This Mauni Amavasya is very rare, happens only once a year when a special constellation manifests in the sky. muni means keep sclience.no munden talk only krishana katha.in mana siskha sri la raghu natha das goswami said...

"O my dear mind! Please abandon altogether the prostitute of contemptible mundane talk, which plunders the entire treasure of pure wisdom. You must unequivocally give up hearing all talk of liberation which, like a tigress, devours your very soul. Furthermore, please abandon even the attachment to Laksmipati Sri Narayana, which leads to Vaikuntha. You should only live in Vraja and worship Sri Radha-Krsna, who bestow upon devotees the precious jewel of Their rati". (Manah-siksa, 4)

The word Mauni means silence and Amavasya means new moon. This "silence" means that we should talk only hari-katha,in venu-gita- srila suka dev goswami told to parikhit maraja PRAYO BATAMBA VIHAGA........VIGATANYA VACAH. BHAGWATAM 10 21 .14 VIGATANYA VACAH means stopping all others sound (which not related to sri krishana) by the mercy of krishana and krishana,s devotees , even birds are able to perform krishana bhajan by following muni dharama with niskama (desire free) bhava . bythe mercy of krishana or his devotees, it is not impossiable for evenunintelligent beings lile birds to follow muni dharama .in the same wayit is notimpossible for the munis to take the formof birds and sit with half closed eyes on the branches of the trees of vindabana to test with greed the sweetness of krishana,s incomparable enthralling beauty and flute......... sri kavi karna pur said all the birds of vindabana are munis and krishana is their guru. this we know very well their is not the slightest doubt about it. the venunada performs such magic that all the birds have taken mauna vrata, a vow of silence and with fixed minds are listening to the lovely song of all the flute. so on everyone should not talk any vaikuntha-katha, advaita-katha (impersonalist topics) or mundane conversations. Our dear Gurudeva, Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaj, was born in this same day, just like Lord Sacinandana Gaura Hari. s appearence in name sankirtana

THE GLORIES MAUNI AMABASYA.

Once, Lord Shiva was meditating in trance, and smiled. Seeing this smile, Sati Devi, his consort, asked: "My dear husband, why are you smiling?" Lord Shiva replied: "Oh, I am seeing the beautiful pastimes of my Lord Ramachandra. You know, my Lord Sri Rama appeared in Ayodhya and then got married to Sita Devi, now They are in the exile in Dandakarana forest. Lord Rama is performing a very sweet pastime, chasing behind a golden dear. His brother Lakshmana is following Him. Now, Lord Rama and Laksmana came back to the cottage and saw that Sita Devi is not there; the demon Ravana has kidnapped her. My Lord Rama is doing a lila like a human-being (naravata-lila),LOKABATTO LILA KIVALYAM . even being Bhagavan, Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is completely desperate looking for Sita Devi. He is shouting loudly: "HA SITE? HA SITE? (Where is Sita? Where is Sita?) while embrace all trees of the forest, looking for His dear wife..."

Hearing this narration, Sati Devi, Lord's Shiva consort, became very disturbed. In her mind one doubt came: "Oh, I am only a demigoddess and I know that Sita Devi is in Lanka, in Ashok Batika, but if Lord Rama is Bhagavan, omniscient, omnipresent, why is He crying and calling for Her like a ......... person?"

In Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita, Lord Krsna says that the person who has doubt about Guru and Bhagavan will again fall down in the circle of birth and death. We have to be very careful with this.

Without asking Lord Shiva, Sati devi went to Dandakarana forest to test Sri Rama. Arriving there, she manifested Sita Devi's form and came in front of Lord Rama. She came in front of him many times, but Lord Rama did not embrace her. Sati Devi thought: "Maybe He is not looking me..." and many times went in His way. Seeing the insistence of Sati Devi, Lord Rama said: o my mother; sati why have you come here "He Sati Devi, what are you doing here? Your husband Shiva is waiting for you in Kailasa! Go back there!"

Then, Sati Devi became very ashamed. She came back imediately to Kailasa. Realizing about pram brahama RAM .... that Sati Devi was confused, Lord Shiva said: "Did you do the test? Did you see if Lord Rama is the Supreme Personality of Godhead?" Then she replied: "No, I did not."

Now, Sati Devi has commited two ofenses: she had one doubt about Bhagavan and she told one lie to Lord Shiva.

We should never tell lies to Sri Guru, and never have doubts about Lord. Sometimes we think that we do all kind of wrong things and Guru does not know, but in fact, he knows everything. Sri Guru lives in our heart, and his name is caitya-guru, he is witnessing all our activities.

sva-mantre sri-namni vraja-nava-yuva-dvandva-sarane sva
sada dambham hitva kuru ratim apurvam atitara-

"O my dear brother, my foolish mind! Taking hold of your feet, I humbly pray to you with sweet words. Please give up all pride and quickly develop sublime and incessant rati for Sri Gurudeva, Sri Vraja-dhama, the residents of Vraja, the Vaisnavas, the brahmanas, your diksa-mantras, the holy names of the Supreme Lord, and the shelter of Kisora-Kisori, Sri Sri Radha-Krsna, the eternally youthful divine couple of Vraja." (Manah-siksa, 1)

Suppose there is one furuncle in your private portion. You have to go to the doctor, otherwise you will die. On the same way, if you have any lust or anger in your mind, you should express to Sri Guru, and Guru will do an operation in your heart.

From that day on, Shivaji became very serious. In meditation, he realized that Sati devi manifested the form if his ista-devi Sita devi, and she had lied to him also. Shiva thought: "She is an aparadhi, ofender." The ones who commit offenses to vaishnavas, Guru and Krishna should be rejected. We should never talk to them, otherwise, our heart will be contaminated. That is why Lord Shiva rejected Sati devi for ever, giving her one asana to sit in front of him, and not at his left side, as his wife. IN SRIMAD BHAGAWATAM DESCRIBES SATI DEHA TAYGA ....This is the main reason why Sati devi gave up her body in her lila, which is described in Srimad-Bhagavatam.

That is why Lord Shiva keeps silence today, in Mauni-amavasya. The meaning of this silence is that he only remembers the sweet pastimes of Sita-Rama and Radha-Krishna. All people who follow Vedic culture also keep silent, reading Ramayana, Mahabharata and HARI KATHA

Peace and Prayer
by Tridandiswami B.V. Vana Maharaja
Material sense gratification should not be the main aim of human life. One should lead a simple existance and use one's valuable time to inquire into the absolute truth. There is no meaning what-so-ever in endless material activities.
All mankind inquires after complete peace and happiness, therefore the Vedas explain:

"natalpa sukham bhumeva sukham"
This world is called the 'incomplete creation,' therefore no one can fulfil all their own desires, but still everyone searches after happiness. Scripture gives evidence about the happiness of the transcendental world only. This transcendental world is called the 'complete creation.' Krishna told Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita:

tam eva saranam gaccha sarva-bhavena bharata
tat prasadat param santim sthanam prapsyasi sasvatam
"O Bharata, surrender exclusively to that Isvara in every respect. By His grace, you will attain transcendental peace and the supreme eternal abode."
(18.62)
Attempts are made from time to time to make the kingdom of heaven descend on earth. Those attempts are of different natures. One type is to bring about world peace.
Peace-makers have been glorified at different tiimes. The political history of the world has seen many. Their extrordinary qualities of heart and mind bring them into promanancy and even among their peers they are noteworthy. This enables them to control the minds of millions who, in their eagerness to have peace, gather round ready to work under their dictation. Very soon these exalted personalities succeed in establishing an era of 'world peace.' But soon after, people realise they have been cheated. The peace they attained is just the seed of more unrest ready to sprout at any moment. The reputation of those great peace-makers soon becomes degraded and they are forced to give up their position. Somebody else is then pushed into that position to carry on. Such is the fate of every human conception of peace.

There are two types of jivas that manifest from the Lord, the bound and the liberated. The liberated souls always remain in the transcendental world and the bound souls live in this material world. Those who are bound in this world are of two types: pious and impious. The pious jiva who is situated in the material body is controlled by eating, sleeping and sensual activities, as his material sense desires dictate. In order to enjoy material comforts he engages in a variety of activities that are born from his material desires. Performing the purifying ceremonies prescribed in the Vedas, his intention is to gather pious credits so that he can enjoy material pleasures by taking birth in a high class family in this world and after attain godly pleasures in the higher planets. Thus he undertakes the path of karma.

In contrast, impious souls take shelter of irreligion and enjoy sense gratification by performing various types of sinful activities. The conclusion is that the aim and object of both types of jivas, pious and impious, is sense gratification, but the Srimad Bhagavatam explains that we should give up gratifying our own senses to gratify the senses of Lord Krishna.

In His Siksastakam Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (who, appearing in this age of kali-yuga, is non-different from Lord Krsna,) declared:

na dhanam na janam na sundarim
kavitam va jagadisa kamaye
mama janmani janmanisvare
bhavatad bhaktir ahaituki tvayi
"O Jagadisa ! I do not desire wealth, followers such as wife, sons and friends and relatives, or mundane knowledge expressed in poetic language. My only desire is that in birth after birth I may have pure devotional service unto your lotus feet."
(no.4)
World peace is only possible when we stop identifying our real selves with this material world, and when the mundane happiness of this world stops being our aim and object.
Vaisnavaism deals with the religion of the soul as distinguished from the body or the mind. Neither the body nor the mind is eternal, only the soul, and therefore it is the religion of the soul that is eternal. Vaisnavaism is the eternal religion of the soul. The object of the pursuit of other religions is one of the following four things: virtue, wealth, desire and salvation. But Vaisnavas have nothing to do with any of these things as none of them is the real object of the soul. Vaisnavaism begins with distinguishing between temporary and permanant things. Both the body and the mind are noticed by the Vaisnavas to be subject to birth and death and therefore temporary, but the soul is eternal as we can see in the Bhagavad Gita: " The soul is eternal and not born or destroyed with the distruction of the body." (2.20)

The Srimad Bhagavat discourses on who is the greatest benefactor in this world:

tava kathamrtam tapta-jivanam
kavibhir iditam kalmasapaham
sravana-mangalam srimad atatam
bhuvi grnanti ye bhuri-da janah
The gopis of Vrindavan declare "The nectar of your words and the discriptions of your activities are the life and soul of those suffering in this material world. These narrations, transmitted by learned sages, eradicate one's sinful reactions and bestow good fortune upon whoever hears them. These narrations are broadcast all over the world and are filled with spiritual power. Certainly those who spread the message of Godhead are most munificent."
(10.31.9)
We must hear the dictation of the soul in this matter. Soul is all love, and hence peace established on the principles of soul is what is real peace. The soul loving God loves all. It is all accommadating.
Teachers of this devine love are genarally misunderstood; people who are unaccustomed to the study of things without reference to flesh and blood, see disturbance of all social and moral ettiquette in their teachings. Addressing such an assembly Christ said, "Think not that I come to send peace on earth. I come to set a man against his father and the daughter against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law." (New Testament) He meant to say that love built on the stands of blood relationships is no love. A God loving son is sure to go against his father who does not love God. Here, in going away from one's father there is peace. There is peace in rebellion against all the social and moral conventions, if that is prompted by Devine Love. There is peace when Prahlad disobeyed his father Hiranyakasipu who pleaded with him not to worship Lord Krsna. There is peace when Arjuna commanded by Lord Krsna, killed in the battle of Kuruksetra his relatives including Bhisma, his own grandfathers step-brother. There is peace when Christ, crucified alive, prayed to God saying "father forgive them they no not what they do". There is peace in peace as well as in disturbance. God knows how to maintain peace, even if it appears apparently harmful to its cause it is in fact favourable.

Some are karmins (performers of fruitive actions), some are jnanins (followers of the path of knowledge), but we are the servants of the true devotees of Hari. One who cultivates a bonafide spiritual process for cleansing his heart and mind and prepering for the hereafter, is considered to be an intelligent person and knows the real goal of life. Bhakti-yoga or devotional service to Krsna, is the fastest means of achieving happiness and real security for the future. In this age of chaos and confusion, known as kali-yuga, the easiest method recommended is the hearing and chanting of the sublime names of God, the Supreme person, Krsna.

Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
These 16 names are all that is required to deliver one from the darkness of ignorance and situate him or her on the highest platform of God-realisation. Krsna is not an Indian God, or the head of the "Hindu" religion. "Hare" is the vocative or spoken word used to address the supreme Lord "Hari." Krsna is an address we use for the Lord, asking him to please deliver us from the maya of material existence. And when we say "Rama" we are requesting the Lord to please sport with us. We humbly request every one to take this sublime procces of bhakti-yoga and become truely happy in this life.

Significance of mercy of gurudev and chastisement: both are same
In the present day of kali find pure Gurudev and pure disciple is extremely rare. In regards this Mahadev tells Parviti “ Sad Guru Durlabha ……” Sad Guru is very rare.
Sad guru clears all the miseries (anartha)of disciple , controlling by love ( Sneha Sasana) and Kripa ( merciful) chastisement . In Sastra , mercy of Gurudev and chastisement both have same importance and significance. Guru’s object is for the welfare of Jivas. Gurudev descend from higher planets to liberate the people from three fold miseries. That is why Visvanath Cakrvarti Takhur says in Guruastaka “ Samsar Dava nal lid a loka …..” . Gurudev is saddened watching people suffering in miseries due to attachment to Maya, and always worries how to solve their three fold miseries.
The disciples who are completely surrender to Srila Gurudev , Gurudev always remembers their well being in his heart. In his commentary Srila Bhaktisidanta Prabhupad writes “if Gurudev observes or listens about anartha (faults) of his disciples and eager to clear heart of his disciples”. This parental Sneha (love) makes Gurudev anxious for his disciple. These symptoms of affection “Bandhu na amangala Asanka”, meaning who has affection and is always anxious for inauspiciousness harming love one. For example - In Damdordar Lila – because Bal Gopala broke the yogurt pot Mother Yasoda chastised and bind Krsna.
