I am Jaya Sri, formerly known as Gia. I have had the great honor to come into contact with the devotees of Krishna and Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupad (via ISKCON) during the 1980's and as a result am chanting the holy name at this time. Through these wonderful devotees of Prabhupad Swami and his books and message of Krishna Consciousness, I was able to get so many beautiful and meaningful, even sometimes funny (and not so funny) stories and experiences about Srila Prabhupad and I have always considered myself a devotee of His Grace. My deep desire is to become Krishna Conscious (realize it fully) and continue to practice Bhakti Yoga. I am also a kirtaniya, having been a professional vocalist since age 16, and now engage in and encourage the chanting of Harinam. I am also an Ayurvedic doctor. Ayurveda is the path to follow as a way to peak health. The path to the soul is Guru who can impart some Krishna prem. I had heard so many great things about Sri Gurudeva and had originally contacted him to ask him for guidance and shelter. I got a beautiful response letter of his acceptance of me as his daughter and asking me to come to Canada to receive his mercy there. I did so and it was such an incredible experience. He gave me both Harinam and Diksa, Though no stranger to sadhana, the only thing missing was him. With his guidance I pray I can truly learn how to please Krishna. I am so very humbled that God and Guru bestow great blessings upon me. I thought it would never happen in my life. Surely, this is the turning point.

My New Mahaprabhu Deity

Mataji Maha Bhagavat brought this new Gem back from Vrindavan on her visit. I am so thrilled! I dance in front of Him everyday. I will take Him to Gurudev in the new year to be blessed like the rest of my deities. I really cannot fully comprehend how fortunate I am, but I do have a glimpse.

Thank you dd for your last comment on my page; it is EXACTLY what I need to hear. Unfortunately, I have a war going on inside me...my rascal spirit is warring against the Paramatma within. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why there must be a war like this. Logically, I KNOW the only way to have peace and happiness is to SERVE Krishna, but for some reason I have a hard time serving Radhe; possibly because of so many bad relationships I have had in the material world. I plan to go to India in August, and maybe I can get more realization then. Thankyou for your sincere concern; I value your wisdom, my sister.
