I am Jaya Sri, formerly known as Gia. I have had the great honor to come into contact with the devotees of Krishna and Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupad (via ISKCON) during the 1980's and as a result am chanting the holy name at this time. Through these wonderful devotees of Prabhupad Swami and his books and message of Krishna Consciousness, I was able to get so many beautiful and meaningful, even sometimes funny (and not so funny) stories and experiences about Srila Prabhupad and I have always considered myself a devotee of His Grace. My deep desire is to become Krishna Conscious (realize it fully) and continue to practice Bhakti Yoga. I am also a kirtaner, having been a professional vocalist since age 16, and now engage in and encourage the chanting of Harinam. As a Vaidya or Ayurvedic doctor I address the mind/body/spirit concept to a way of better health and I will give devotees some good points. This is the path to follow as a way to peak health. The path to the soul is Guru. I had heard so many great things about Sri Gurudeva and had recently contacted him to ask him for guidance and shelter. I got a beautiful response letter of his acceptance of me as his daughter and asking me to come to Canada to receive his mercy there. I did so and it was such an incredible experience. He gave me both Harinam and Diksa, I am and no stranger to sadhana, the only thing missing was him. With his guidance I pray I can truly learn how to please Krishna. I am so very humbled that God and Guru bestow great blessings upon me. I thought it would never happen in my life. Surely, this is the turning point.
