Bhakti Yoga means 100 percentage devotion where is no separation between our private life (work, family, income, possession) and the service for Krishna. Doesnt a matter in which ashram we live.
Especially we must give up our participation at the war by doing some "Jobs", paying taxes, by our consumption, by our concepts of life. Instead of this we must create quite new structures of life, structures of justice and love. Tolstoy wrote: The only way to end the violence activities of the state is the refusal to take part on it.
Therefore I am looking for devotees who want to go ahead with Goloka Vrindavan here on earth. We must built up Vrindavan similary conditions, similary it was intended with the project of Mayapur by Srila Prabhupada. The boat we have to enter coming back to Godhead must become a real form, not only in our hearts. People do not need alone the Holy Name but also the "daily bread": new schools, a new form of family life, happy and self-determined work in common economy, spiritual practice, permaculture (krameterhof.at), a world with no exploitation and where no one gets lost, neither moral, social or religious !!
These days we celebrate Rathayatra which among other things means that Krishna leaves the atmosphere of the temple in order to be seen in the world and in order to be worshiped in this world. All pastimes of Krishna take place in the world and (as I know) no one in the temple. Kurukshetra also takes place in the world where we must be sword and not frond (?)
To give the people Prasadam is not only a matter of a sunday feast but must become a daily experience for everyone, esp.for the poor. I dont speak about alms or poor-kitchens. Every soul has the right to take part at the big feast to which Krishna invites all living entities. God wants the unit and not the separation. As Jesus he searches for every loosed sheep. Therefore it must be a pain for every Vaishnava if somebody suffers, if somebody has not enough to eat, no work, no home, no family and so on.
This includes the soul of a capitalist too, also his soul must be saved and delivered by creating a new working world. Therefore we find the real Vrindavan not only in India or in a religion but everywhere where we follow the instructions of Krishna.
One important way seems to be the life in so-called "healing biotops" as we find them in tamera.org or Auroville (see the book: Ecovillage Living – Restoring the Earth and Her People) although these projects alone still not lead to Krishna. Alachua and other commuities are the better way but they must have a concept for all and not only for an elitist group. That has nothing to do with Krishna consciousness. The so called "religious life" left behind a big gap - not only in the past but still today! -, as f.e. the opinion that we have to fullfill "higher tasks" as to help someone who lies half dead on the street. It is not his Karma alone but first of all our own guilt if he remains there and that the streets will be filled furthermore with pain and misery in the future. On this way the soul of the people can not be saved. We have seen it in Grosny where devotees have done the necessary and where people have now a great respect for them. They call them holy.
Because we got the causless and endless mercy of Krishna we have the endless duty and guilt to change the conditions through which people come into poverty, misery and moral lapses.
The structures of misery have - as I already mentioned - to do with our daily life. How we work, how we earn and use our money, how we do peace work and how we are real servants or not. All riches which Krishna gives a devotee is in reality only a test if we will give back what we got for free ... Hari bol.
