1990-98: Actively served under some of Srila Prabhupada's nicest devotees after finding "On the Way to Krsna" at a rummage sale in my dad's church . I'm very fortunate to have had the association of dasas and dasis including Mahavegavati, Puru, Rohininandana, Apurva & Kamalini, Kritakarma, Srila, Gurudas, Mother Madanasini, Ajitananda, Mirabai, Udhrareta, Dina Dayal, Mother Gopa, Karnamrita & her departed mother, Raghunath, Govinda & Vasudeva Ghosh, Nityodita Maharaja, Varsana Maharaja, and Satsvarupa Maharaja.

And of course there were Mani Manjari & Syamasundara, who came to take initiation from Srila Gurudeva just before she passed away. You all dedicated so many years of hard seva to Prabhupada's mission, and took care of me like a small child who didn't know anything. I hope you are all able to hear Hari katha from any high class vaisnava where ever you all are, and if not now, I pray that soon your situation may change so that you may do so.

As for those appearing in Srila Prabhupa's dynasty, who only destroyed my faith, there's nothing that can be said either to or about you.

1997: Thought I killed Allen Ginsberg. I insisted he take some maha burfi, despite his refusal due to having diabetes. Finally he took two pieces. The next week I found out he had passed away, but didn't know it was from liver cancer.

1998: Started putting on a sari after a joke on Halloween/Govardhan puja in New Vrndavan.

2001: 1st trip to India. Received maha mantra from Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaja, who is the personification of Mahaprabhu's Siksastakam! Back in a small town in the States, prayed for devotee association, which was bestowed in a matter of a couple months in the form of the compassionate, affectionate disciples of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja.

2002: Met my partner. Also met Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja. I had some doubt about my place in varnashrama, so I asked our Srila Gurudeva, there is stri dharma and brahmana(etc.) dharma, but what are the rules and regulations for someone who is neither? Srila Gurudeva laughed kindly, "You must be brand new to this sanga – you don't know all these things! You can chant harinama and gayatri, there is no restriction." As I was leaving, he added, "Just remember there are no hijras in Goloka Vrndavana."

2004: One of my several siksa gurus left Srila Gurudeva to return to material life. Just shortly afterwards my partner's guru had some difficulties, and asked his disciples to take shelter elsewhere.

2005: Another of my siksa gurus left Srila Gurudeva. As I am so arrogant, and devoid of empathy, I consider it a great blessing that my gurus fell at this time. Otherwise I would have been saying, "Just see what happens if you don't follow a Uttama-adhikari!"

2006: I was totally drying up from lack of sadhu sanga, and painfully examining where I went wrong in my guru-disciple relationships.

Present: I am now trying to cultivate a closer relationship with Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Maharaja, and develope sweet exchanges with everyone according to how much respect they actually deserve.

Taking My Own Pulse

Recently I had begun to feel that except for the occasional stubbing of my toe, or falling down the stairs, I'm not too attached to this body anymore. After all I don't look in the mirror any more. "Hey, I'm ready to leave it at any time," I thought. Last night I had a wake up call, both literally and figuratively.

Although I haven't had this problem since I was a teenager, because of something which was in our trash, I got attacked in my sleep by one of those subtle entities we aren't…

Employer of the Month

It's the subject of video games, songs, and movies; how many workers have'nt fantasized about putting a bullet through their boss' head? Well I didn't and I doubt any of my colleagues did either. I had the most patient, understanding, non-judgemental boss a person could have. His name was Ruud, and he was anything but rude. Although he liked to listen to "Christian Inspirational Music" himself, he didn't want anyone in the depot to be uncomfortable, so he had compiled a tape of songs that were s…

Radhastami ki jaya!

On Radhastami '07 I was asked by the head pujari to sprinkle water from the pancapatra cup onto each person's hands before they bathed Radha and Krsna. The kirtan was roaringly loud, so I could not explain to novices what they were supposed to do. I first attempted to sprinkle exactly three drops into each hand, but as few knew what I was doing, I quickly saw that this wasn't going to work, so I tried to get any water on their hands. I winced to see that some folks s

About Sanga-Space

Sanga Space is a haven for the devotees to hear and discuss the words of Srila Gurudeva and the other authorized pure devotees. It's like a MySpace and more for the devotees of Krishna.

In Germany 2007, I asked Srila Gurudeva if his online video classes were like books.. he said 'Yes they are just like books'. So please don't miss all the video classes of Gurudeva that are available under the Videos Tab, and use the added facility to take and save your own personal class notes.
