~ Srila Gurudeva Haribol! Are you a student? Have you ever been a student? Are you thinking of becoming a student? If so, then this is the group for you! Here in the “Vaisnava Students” group, we will try to help each other understand how to internally develop our bhakti while externally being a student.
Those who are fortunate enough to attend gurukula follow a curriculum that is based on the Srimad Bhagavatam and other Vaisnava scriptures and have the opportunity to associate with Vaisnavas in their daily environment. In contrast, those of us attending mainstream institutions of learning may follow a course of study that seems to have nothing to do with the shastras, and our classmates and teachers may have never even heard the name of Sri Krsna. Irrespective of whether we attend high school or college, school demands a great deal of our time and energy. How can we progress in our bhajana in the face of such conditions? How do we find the time to chant and read Srila Gurudeva’s books? How should we represent ourselves and our beliefs to the people we meet in school? How can we utilize our educational learning for the service of Srila Gurudeva? How can we start bhakti-yoga clubs and preaching programs at our respective institutions? The purpose of this group is to discuss these important issues and share ideas with one another.
Srila Gurudeva has given many of us the order to complete our studies. Let’s help each other carry out his wishes and use our new knowledge and skills toward the advancement of his mission!
