The first place to look for Ayurvedic products is the local Indian grocery.
Ususally they have a little section and I find that price wise it is usually very reasonable. Stick to large companies such as Dabur. I recomend if your kidneys are in good shape to take Chyawanprasha Aveleha ( Jam made of amalaki)
this is a powerful restorative and source of vitamins. There are many companies
in USA right now that make their own version of the different products.
If you are advanced in your knowledge of herbs you can buy a few herbs at Thai and asian groceries-- but you have to be able to recognize them by smell and taste because the proprietor won't know what you are talking about. I found
Tulasi( holy basil) fresh in a Thai grocery . This is good for the brain and the blood pressure. You can make a paste with a motar and a pestle and sqeeze the fresh juice.Don't forget to offer it to Krishna's lotus feet.
All the herbs used in cooking are the Ayurvedic medicine. You can find out about
them and their energetics and how they affect the doshas in this very good book.

Combinations and compound products are convenient - but the best place to find ayurvedic products is your own Indian herb and spice collection. Kewel....
